03/08/2010 08:36:18Testing is almost complete on the VBRA generic RUPD's. Only one design remains to be approved and VBRA will shortly offer to members a licence to produce their own RUPD's to these approved designs which will suit the vast majority of vehicles across the weight range.

03/08/2010 08:26:21In a quotation survey of 12 mainstream insurance outlets last week only 1 (Aviva) was entirely up front with details of its 'penalty' excess for policyholders choosing their own repairer in the event of an accident. Of the others NONE volunteered any information about contractual compunction to use their network repair shops-or higher excesses-and when asked the question only 2 knew the correct answers without reference to a higher authority. 02/12/2009 09:49:14It was originally suggested there would probably be a reciprocal agreement between the UK and Ireland in terms of acceptability of each others approval regimes. Folllowing a recent enquiry on progress of this by VBRA to the DFT it seems that whilst this remains a medium to long term aim it will certainly not be realised in the short term. The differences between regimes have been identified and, as yet, solutions have not been found. VBRA will continue to pursue this issue in meetings with ..
